Admin for a dance school

Admin for a dance school is the balance on the class card, not the quarterly invoice. The teacher wants to know if this student still has a class. The parent wants to enrol without emailing the desk.

A class card is a balance

A class card drops per lesson. If you put it in Moneybird as a one-off invoice, nobody knows after class four how many are left. The balance belongs to the member, and the desk and the student must see the same number.

Parents enrol the child

Most sign-ups do not come from the student. A parent creates an account, adds the child and picks the class. In MySubs that parent then switches between family members in the same app. One payer, several students.

You set that up on the page for dance schools. A running membership is collected through Mollie on your account. Trial classes and loose cards stay a balance, not a second spreadsheet.

What you check at the door

Who may come in is the same question as who still has fees or credits. Scanning at the door removes the note on the teacher’s clipboard. See also how a gym splits a plan and a class pack. The pattern is the same.

Frequently asked questions

How do you track class cards at a dance school?

As a balance, not an invoice. At the scan the desk punches one credit. The student and the desk see the same remainder.

Can parents enrol a child?

Yes. A parent creates an account, adds the child and picks the membership. They can then switch which family member the pass shows in the member area.

Do I have to replace my bookkeeping?

No. Invoices stay in your accounting tool. Classes, cards and collection belong in member admin.
